SO WHAT IS K18?

K18 is a leave-in treatment that uses a biomimetic peptide to penetrate the hair shaft deeply, reversing hair damage in 4 minutes.

WHAT ARE THE INGREDIENTS IN K18?

HOW DOES IT WORK AND WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT TO OTHER LEAVE-IN TREATMENTS?

K18 has been formulated using a patented peptide, a sequence of amino acids that deeply penetrate the hair and reconnect broken keratin chains responsible for your hair's elasticity and strength. As opposed to other leave-in treatments that contain silicones and coat the hair, leaving your hair feeling mucky and overloaded with product.

HOW DO YOU APPLY K18?

K18 must be applied to freshly washed, damp hair only

In Shower: 

Use a clarifying shampoo but do not condition.

Post Shower:

Apply a small amount of K18 instead (half, and follow through with leave-in or hair serum. 

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I BE USING K18 ?

K18 is designed to be used for six consecutive washes and then every 3-4 washes for maintenance.

 

CAN I USE K18 ON MY HAIR EXTENSIONS?

Yes, however, we suggest using K18 sparingly on your hair extensions. Why is this, you ask? 

K18 is designed to repair hair and can be confused for a "hydrating treatment", which it isn't. You may have heard your hairdresser tell you to avoid products containing sulphates(clarifying shampoo) and alcohol(K18) when wearing your extensions. These two go hand in hand to work their best, and because hair extensions don't receive their natural nutrients, these ingredients can be pretty drying, whereas, on your natural hair, you wouldn't see much difference.  

Put simply, K18's unique formula contains alcohol so that it can work effectively and because the treatment requires squeaky clean hair to do its job. This may dry out your extensions.

K18 is a hair care product that has gained much attention due to its ability to repair and strengthen hair. It uses a patented bioactive peptide designed to mimic a natural protein sequence in the hair to reconnect keratin chains, which can be damaged during styling, colouring, or other chemical treatments. Here's how to use K18 on hair extensions.

1. Wash the extensions:

   Start by gently washing your hair extensions. This can be done while they're still attached to your hair or removed if they're clip-ins. Use a sulphate-free shampoo that is suitable for hair extensions. Rinse thoroughly.

   The K18 hair mask is typically used after shampooing. Apply a small amount of the K18 mask, focusing on the mid-lengths to the ends of the extensions. You don't need to apply it to the roots or bonding area. Use enough to saturate the hair but avoid overusing the product as it can make hair feel heavy.

5. Wait for 4 minutes

   Allow the product to sit on your hair extensions for 4 minutes. During this time, do not manipulate the hair; let the mask do its work. The bioactive peptide in the K18 formula needs this time to activate and bond with the hair.

7. Rinse (optional)

   While K18 doesn't require rinsing off if you have particularly fine hair extensions or are worried about them getting weighed down, you can rinse the product lightly with cold water.

   After the 4-minute wait, you can style your hair extensions. Your extensions are easier to manage, and you feel healthier after using K18.

Using K18 on hair extensions can significantly improve their look and longevity. Remember, however, that continuing your regular hair extension maintenance is essential. Regular use of K18, in combination with gentle handling and appropriate hair care, can help keep your extensions looking their best for as long as possible.

Remember that hair extensions won't last indefinitely, even with effective treatments like K18. Over time, they will still be subject to wear and tear, but by using K18 and following good care practices, you can maximize their lifespan and keep them looking fresh and natural.

SO WHY WE OFFER K18?

K18 can do wonders for your hair and hair extensions when used correctly. 

We suggest using it every 6-8 washes for hair extension wearers, equating to 1-2 clarifying washes a month (depending on how frequently you do this), to reap its benefits. Or post chemical, colour or heat styling.
